newsletter 17 21st Jan

Reminder Parent Governor leaflets are still in the school office for collection. The deadline for returning these is 28th January. If you would like to nominate a parent please come into the office and complete a form before this date. Thank you.

Cello Lessons Please note that from next week any child who has cello lessons at school, the time
will be changing for the next three weeks as somebody else will be teaching them. The new day and time will be Thursdays from 10.30—12pm and the dates are 28th Jan, 4th and 11th February. After this, lessons will go back to normal on a Tuesday morning. Thank you.

P.E Kits Please ensure that your child has the correct kit in school each day so that they are able to participate in all P.E. lessons.

Baby News You may have noticed that Mrs. Manson and Mrs Dhadwal have recently changed shape. No, they haven’t eaten too many mince pies this Christmas! Both are expecting their babies this Spring. They will be with us until the Easter holidays—when they start their maternity leave. We wish them well and know that their classes are really excited.

NSPCC Number Day Thank you to everyone who donated money on Friday for our Number Day. All the money raised will go towards funds for the NSPCC.

Haiti Earthquake Appeal Many of our older children have expressed concern about the plight of families in Haiti, following the earthquake. Our Year 5 children have come up with the idea of a cake sale as a way of raising money to send to the Disasters Emergency Committee. The cake sale will be on Monday 25th January from 3-4pm. So please, get baking over the weekend, all contributions welcomed.

Money in Envelopes Please make sure that any money coming into school needs to be in a clearly marked envelope with your child’s name and class on it. Also please state what the money is for.

School Security Recently we have noticed that children seem to be entering the building late in the mornings via the door that leads into the Year 1 corridor. Please do not let your child enter the school from this entrance. If they are late they need to report to the school office so that staff have a record of their attendance.
