newsletter 16 dec

Now that my first term as Headteacher comes to a close I would like to thank all of our school community and express my delight in the many achievements for Glade Primary:
· Our Activities Fair in September—introducing parents/pupils to the variety of clubs in the local area.
· A very successful “One World Week” in October.
· The PAWS group have raised £2,000 towards school funds.
· The pupils have raised approximately £1,500 for charitable work.
· The opening of two new Reception classes.
· The participation of Glade pupils in many sporting events including the swim team achieving 3rd place over all in the Redbridge Gala and lst position as a state school.
· Our priority in the New Year will be:
· To create a school library.
· To develop the Early Years playground.

PAWS Raffle A very big Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets for our Christmas draw. We raised a staggering £1,300 which was amazing! The class who sold the most were 2M whose grand total amounted to £425 and the family that sold the most were the Mahesh’s (Tamar in class 2M and Kaile in Nursery), who sold tickets amounting to £330.
For a full list of prizes and the winners please see list displayed in the school office.

Christmas Performances This year’s Christmas performances have once again entertained family and friends. Years 3 and 4 performed the “Egyptian Nativity” and the KS1 classes performed “Countdown to Christmas”.

Booster Classes Year 6 booster classes start on Wednesday 5th January. Your child will get a letter inviting them to these sessions this week.

Don’t Forget—If you missed out buying a DVD of your child’s Christmas performance they can be purchased from the school office.

Arrears If you owe money for school dinners, morning club or after school club please pay these before we close for the Christmas break.

The staff would like to say a big “thank you” for all the lovely gifts, cards, kind words and good wishes that we have received.
Wishing you all the very best for the festive season and 2011. We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 4th January 2011.
