newsletter 22nd july 2010

As we come to the end of another school year, I am mindful of the fact that this is my last newsletter to you all, since tomorrow will be my last day at Glade. Looking back over the last 8 and a half years, I am reminded of many achievements and highlights:
· The excellent behaviour of our pupils.
· 3 successful OFSTED inspections.
· The expansion of the school site.
· The stable and committed staff team.
· The National awards achieved—Healthy Schools, Investors in People, Basic Skills, ICT mark and Active mark.
· The breakfast and after school club.
· Consistently good to outstanding SATS results.
· The warm school ethos and values.
· An active PTA and harmonious school community.
· Excellent professional development for staff.
· Outstanding Governing Body.
· The exciting and fun events such as school performances, sports days, curriculum weeks and good works assemblies.
· A strong emphasis on the personal development and care of pupils.
· The excellent links with other educational settings and so much more…………………

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all pupils for the enthusiasm and joy they bring, the staff for their hard work and commitment, parents for their strong support and the governing body for its continued endeavours to achieve excellent provision for the Glade pupils.
I will always hold Glade in a warm place in my heart, as it has been a pleasure and a privilege to be Headteacher here.
I wish you all much happiness and success in the future, and thank you for all the lovely gifts and positive comments.

Competition Kits Please can you return ANY Glade competition kits that you may have at home ready for use next year. This includes pink T-shirts, yellow shorts and T-shirts and football kits. Thank you for your support in ensuring that the children have smart kit to wear each time they represent the school at a sporting event.

Key Stage 1 Gymnastic Competition Thank you to all the parents who put their child’s name forward for the Gymnastics competition next year. As the response was very positive I will be holding trials for the names that I have. You will find out whether your child will be taking part in the competition once the trials have taken place in September. Thank you for your support.

Finally, may I wish all our Year 6 pupils the best of luck as they move on to their Secondary schools in September.
We wish Mrs. Leverton great success at Cranbrook Primary and thank her for almost 9 years of commitment and dedicated hard work, leading us forward with our many achievements. We wish Mrs. Patel well as she starts her maternity leave and look forward to her joyous news.
