I hope you all had a great half-term break and are back feeling refreshed.
Rainbow Theatre Group This fantastic group have been into school today and all the children in KS1 have had the opportunity to watch their fairytales presentation, which I am sure they have thoroughly enjoyed. If you have not yet paid for this group could you please send in your contribution of £3.50. Thank you.
School Lunches You should have received a copy of the new school lunch menu before the half-term. This is the menu that we are now using each week.
Creative Curriculum We are finding new and exciting ways to enhance our curriculum and preparing ourselves for the introduction of the New Primary National Curriculum in September 2011. We have organised a whole school INSET on Monday 8th March for all staff and invited colleagues from other schools. The day will be led by an educational consultant and trainer Bruce Potts.
Please make arrangements for your child as school will be closed for pupils that day.
National Sing-up Day All our pupils participated in this event on Wednesday 24th February in learning a new song which will be recorded as part of a National Virtual Choir of our school singing “Strictly Come Singing”. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and entertained the school with their “glorious voices”.
Active Kids Vouchers These are now being given out by the Sainsbury’s run scheme. Please collect them for us when doing your shopping and bring them in to school as they are an excellent way for us to get extra equipment for the children. Thank you.
Recorder Lessons All pupils in Years 3 and 4 have regular recorder lessons in school and it is important that each child has their own recorder for hygiene and practicing purposes. These are available to purchase from the school office, priced at £4.60 for the recorder and £1.50 for the recorder book.
Office Hours Please note that the office closes at 3.45pm. Children should, therefore, be collected promptly at 3.30pm. If children are not collected by 3.45pm they will be sent to the After School Club and a charge will be made for this. If the Club is full they will be kept in the office and the Charging Policy for Late Collection of Children will be implemented. The Policy states “In cases where a child is not collected within fifteen minutes of the end of the school day or after school activity a charge of £5.00 will be made to the parent/carer for the first 30 minutes of non-collection and then £10.00 thereafter for each thirty minute period that the child is not collected”. The charge is to cover the additional hours worked by the office staff. The full policy is available from the school office.
NSPCC Change for Change We raised a fantastic £622 for NSPCC through our Change for Change. Thank you very much for donations of your coins and sponsorships. The money will go towards putting a stop to cruelty to children.
