Newsletter 32 - 3rd June 2009

Welcome Back! I do hope you all had an enjoyable sunny break! As we begin our final half term for the school year, we start with some reminders.

School Closure Tomorrow School will be closed tomorrow as we are being used as a polling station. School will resume as normal on Friday morning.

Staff Car Park I have mentioned this issue in previous newsletters, please, please do not use the staff car park when dropping off or picking up your children. It is only for the use of staff members!

Parent Governor Vacancy We currently have a vacancy on the Governing Body for a parent governor. Leaflets will be coming home shortly with more information.

Attendance and Punctuality Please ensure that your child attends school regularly and is on time. In line with Redbridge policy we do monitor regularly and will issue fixed penalty fines to parents, who take children on holiday during term time—£50 per child.

Recorder Festival The following children represented Glade in the Redbridge Recorder Festival before half term and did the school proud. It was a wonderful evening:
Cathryn Bowyer, Hayley Bowyer, Becky Condon, Lauren Condon, Aaran Vijayakumaran, Walisa Jameel, Kartegan Thavanesan, Karthik Ganesh, Subirna Visvalingam, Elizabeth Folorunso, Whitney Ile, Jyothi Sadeh, Zaynah Mahmood, Uzaam Asim
And a special mention to Phoebe Francis who was due to take part but sadly had an accident the day before and hurt her wrist.

Donations The Reception staff would be grateful for any donations of toys, puppets, games, drapes, carpet squares, dressing up clothes and handbags, that can be used to develop creative play. If you have any good quality items that you no longer need, and think it would be useful for the Reception classes. Please speak to any of the staff in Reception. Many Thanks.

PAWS Non-Uniform Day Thanks to all who supported us with the last event. We will let you know how much we raised next week. Remember, we are working towards raising £2000 for additional exciting playground fixed furniture such as a long boat. The next non-uniform day is now on 19th June and we are asking for donations of bottles for the summer fete.

Wrong Trousers Day This is on 26th June and we are asking children for a donation of £1 please. Thank you.
