newsletter 7 oct

Book Week We have had a good week here in school with our Book Week. The author Jack Trelawney came in on Tuesday afternoon and the children greatly enjoyed meeting him and listening to his stories. Please remember that tomorrow we are having a dress up day as a character from a book. We are asking for a £1 contribution to go towards the purchasing of some new books for the children.

Parking The Community Police Officer issued 3 parking tickets this week on Wednesday morning and gave several warnings. It is both worrying and disappointing to know that many of our parents are parking dangerously and ignoring the advice of staff and other parents.
PLEASE PARK YOUR CAR SAFELY AND WALK YOUR CHILD TO THE PLAYGROUND.

Security-School Gates Please note the school gates will not open until 3.20pm each afternoon. Therefore, access to the playground before this time will not be allowed.

School Photographs The school photographer will be in next Tuesday, 12th October to take individual photos of the children. If you would like a family group taken including a child of yours not currently at Glade please arrive at 8.30am. Any siblings that attend school will be got from their individual classes during the day so that they can have a photograph together.

One World Week
This is the week beginning 18th October. The whole school will be engaged in cross curricular cultural activities that celebrate the diversity of our school. Activities will include our popular International Food Tasting on Thursday 21st and Carnival Day on Friday 22nd. A letter with further details will come out next week.

Maths Challenge Day This will take place next Friday, 15th October. All classes will be involved in solving maths problems. There will be a parents session also on Thursday 14th October at 9.15-10.15am. We hope to see many of you there!
