We had a great turnout for last week’s Good Works assemblies, particularly in the afternoon. I do hope that many of you will be able to join in again this week.
Harvest Good Works Assemblies
Once again we would ask for donations of tinned and packets of food, as we are collecting for Redbridge Night Shelter. I hope that you will agree that this is a good cause.
Please send in the items on Friday.
Activities Fair - Tuesday 29th September 2009
Please come along to our Activities Fair in the school hall from 3pm—4.30pm. You can find out about children’s clubs in the local area and what they can offer you and your children.
Donations of Clothing
We would really appreciate old clothes for the school office for use when children have ‘little accidents’.
PAWS (Parents Working for School)
We had the first of our meetings yesterday afternoon and have arranged various special events for this term.
Details to follow. We would love to see as many parents as possible at the forthcoming events. All the money raised goes directly back to the children in a variety of ways such as Christmas presents, Outdoor play equipment, etc.
Racist Incident Monitoring
You may be aware that all schools are required to monitor racist incidents and report to parents, governors and the local authority annually. Our procedures include recording all incidents and noting who the victims or perpetrators are, so that we are able to address overall issues arising. This relates to incidents not just between children, but also adults.
In total last year, 20 incidents were reported by pupils. All were dealt with by adult intervention, and parents were notified of the consequences and the schools policy.
If you would like any further information regarding this, please contact me via the school office.
Reception Admissions for September 2010
Any child turning 5 between 1st Sept 2010 and 31st August 2011, will need to start in Reception in September 2010. Admission booklets have been sent to all nursery parents. Attendance
Please note that we will only be authorising one day's absence for Eid.
Leave of Absence Requests
All new parents please note:
Pupils attend school for a maximum of 190 days each academic year. Full attendance is vital for your child’s educational progress. The school regards absences as a very serious concern and there is an overwhelming connection between those students who are frequently absent and those who go onto underachieve in examinations. The school will only grant leave in term time in the most exceptional circumstances.
Leave taken without permission of the Head Teacher will be recorded as unauthorised, and you may be liable to a Penalty Notice resulting in a £100 fine. (Reduces to £50 if paid within 28 days).
Extended leave may result in your child being removed from the school roll.
Playground Equipment Please ensure that your child takes care and plays safely on the new equipment, we want them to enjoy the new apparatus.
School Lunches
As the new catering company settle in may I just remind you that we can no longer supply a lunch without prior payment. All money must come in on a Monday morning in a clearly labelled envelope with your child's name and class on it. Lunches are £1.93 per day and cheques need to be made payable to London Borough of Redbridge. Please also note that any queries regarding payment will be directed to the new cash collector as office staff are not involved in this process. I am also pleased to inform you that as from Monday 28th September we will have non-halal and halal meat dishes, so that no child is disadvantaged.
Snacks
Morning snack will be available as usual from Monday 28th September. We apologise for any inconvenience caused over the last two weeks.
Parents Yoga
