We have all been enjoying the unexpected sunshine this week. Thankfully we had glorious weather for our inflatable day last Friday.
PAWS Mega Fun Inflatable Day -
A Big thank you to everyone who helped and donated cakes or who supported this event by coming along on the day. As well as having fantastic fun we also managed to raise an outstanding £845. Thank you.

Vacancies for Brass Tuition There are a few vacancies for children in KS2 wishing to learn to play a brass instrument within school. The cost of this is £4 per lesson plus hire of the instrument. If your child is interested please write in to the school office.

Panto Workshops The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshop that was in school on Tuesday of this week. If you have not yet paid a £1 please do so as soon as possible. The children in years 1 and 2 will also be going to see the pantomime at the Kenneth More theatre in December, so please also send in the money for this trip.

Good Attendance—is important because:
Statistics show a direct link between under-achievement and poor attendance.
Regular attenders make better progress, both socially and academically.
Regular attenders find school routines and school work easier to cope with.
Regular attenders find learning more satisfying.
Regular attenders have an easier transfer to secondary school.
Please therefore ensure that your child attends school regularly and on time.

Main Gate Opening at End of Day Please note that the main gates to school will not be opened until 3.20pm in the afternoons, this is for the safety and security of all our children and staff at Glade.

Redbridge Ability Challenge Some of our children took part in this event yesterday. They all had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

newsletter no 2 15th September 2011

The OFSTED team inspection on 18th and 19th July 2011 judged Glade Primary to be a Good School with outstanding features :
The extent to which pupils feel safe
The effectiveness of care and guidance and support and
The effectiveness of the schools engagement with parents and carers
‘The new headteacher, deputy headteacher and senior leaders are keeping staff focused on driving forward further improvement. They are supported well by increasingly effective middle leaders and a supportive, yet challenging, governing body. Thorough monitoring and accurate self-evaluation provide a firm basis from which leaders plan for the future. As a result of strong improvements in the quality of provision, in particular the successful changes made to the curriculum, school leaders have ensured that the pupils’ attainment remains above average. This coupled with effective self-evaluation, provides the school with good capacity for further improvement.’
The full report will be available for parents to read on our website. Paper copies are available for any parents who do not have computer access.
Letters will be going home to pupils tonight.
We are very proud of our achievements and wish to thank all our parents for their continued support.
